Conway Police have charged a 33-year-old North Conway man with operating a snowmobile while intoxicated – subsequent offense – after he crashed yesterday Monday afternoon in Redstone.

The police log says Irving R. Day of Wylie Ct. was found with facial injuries shortly after 2 p.m. after police and North Conway Ambulance responded to a snowy area off Eastman Rd. across from Hills RVs. Day refused to be taken to a hospital. He is also charged with operating the snowmobile after his license had been revoked.

A New Hampshire Fish and Game Officer says a 23-year-old Mass. man was seriously injured in a late night snowmobile crash this weekend while riding on Lake Winnipesaukee near Moultonborough.

Sgt. Brad Morse says Brandon Fitzgerald of Westford was riding near Long Island around 12:45 a.m. Saturday when he hit a snow berm and was ejected more than 80 feet, hitting a guardrail on Long Island Rd. Fitzgerald – who was wearing a helmet – was knocked unconscious by the crash and members of his group called 911 when they saw his lights disappear.

Moultonborough Police and Stewart’s Ambulance responded and Fitzgerald was airlifted by DHART Helicopter to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, where he was listed in serious condition Monday.

Morse says the incident is being investigated.
