CONWAY, BARTLETT, INTERVALE LOSE POWER SUNDAY NIGHT

A SPOKESMAN FOR NEW HAMPSHIRE ELECTRIC CO-OP SAYS NEARLY 4,000 CUSTOMERS IN CONWAY, INTERVALE AND BARTLETT LOST POWER SUNDAY NIGHT.

SETH WHEELER SAYS SHORTLY AFTER 8 P.M. SUNDAY, AN INSULATOR ON A PUBLIC SERVICE COMPANY OF NEW HAMPSHIRE TRANSMISSION LINE TO THE CONWAY SUBSTATION FAILED, CAUSING THE OUTAGE.

POWER WAS RESTORED SHORTLY BEFORE 10 P.M.

WHEELER REPORTS NINE SMALL POWER OUTAGES IN SANDWICH AND TUFTONBORO MONDAY MONING AFFECTING LESS THAN A HUNDRED (100) CUSTOMERS, DUE TO TREES AND WIRES BROUGHT DOWN BY THE GUSTY WINDS AND HEAVY RAIN.

HE SAYS HE EXPECTS THOSE KIND OF SCATTERED OUTAGES TO CONTINUE THROUGHOUT THE DAY TODAY.
