FOUR CONWAY TEENS ARRESTED AFTER MIDDLE SCHOOL BURGLARY

CONWAY POLICE SAY FOUR CONWAY TEENAGERS FACE FELONY BURGLARY CHARGES AFTER THEY ALLEGEDLY BROKE INTO KENNETT MIDDLE SCHOOL IN CONWAY EARLY FRIDAY MORNING.

LT. CHRIS PERLEY SAYS THE FOUR WERE APPREHENDED NEAR THE MIDDLE SCHOOL ON MAIN ST. AFTER CPL. MIKE BOUCHER AND OFFICER RYAN MACLEAN STOPPED THERE FRIDAY AROUND 3 A.M. AS PART OF THEIR REGULAR PATROL.

THE OFFICERS ALLEGEDLY SAW THE SUSPECTS CARRYING SCHOOL EQUIPMENT LIKE UNIFORMS AND PERLEY SAYS COURT AUTHORIZED SEARCHES LATER OF TWO CARS PARKED NEARBY AT CONWAY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TURNED UP EVIDENCE.

PERLEY SAYS 19-YEAR-OLD JOHN MARSHALL III OF EAST CONWAY RD. IN REDSTONE RAN FROM THE OFFICERS BUT WAS CHASED, CAUGHT AND ARRESTED BY MACLEAN.

17-YEAR-OLD JONATHAN HOYT ALSO ALLEGEDLY RAN AND WAS ARRESTED LATER IN THE MORNING AT HIS WOODLAND GROVE HOME.

HOYT’S 18-YEAR-OLD BROTHER JACOB HOYT AND 18-YEAR-OLD GARRETT PETTIS OF WEST MAIN ST. WERE ARRESTED AT THE SCENE.

PERLEY PRAISES HIS OFFICERS FOR THEIR DAILY VIGILANCE, DILIGENCE AND ENTHUSIASM – QUALITIES HE SAYS WERE REWARDED AS THEY APPREHENDED FOUR INDIVIDUALS WHO WERE DOING HARM TO THE COMMUNITY.

ALL FOUR MEN ARE CHARGED WITH CLASS A FELONY BURGLARY, WHICH IS PUNISHABLE BY UP TO 15 YEARS IN PRISON. MARSHALL AND JACOB HOYT ARE ALSO CHARGED WITH MINORS IN POSSESSION OF ALCOHOL, A VIOLATION LEVEL OFFENSE.

PERLEY SAYS JACOB HOYT HAS A CRIMINAL RECORD AND A JUDGE SET HIS BAIL AT $10,000 CASH. THE OTHER THREE HAD THEIR BAIL SET AT $10,000 CASH OR BOND.

ALL FOUR MEN ARE SCHEDULED TO APPEAR IN COURT AGAIN WEDNESDAY.
