A Man In Albany Dies When His Canoe Capsized

Albany N.H. – A man in Albany lost his life yesterday after a canoe he was in capsized. According to New Hampshire State Police, at around 11:18 Sunday Morning a group canoeing on Whitton Pond were about 400 feet from shore when their vessel overturned. Although all three occupants were wearing life jackets, an adult male became trapped under the canoe. Another nearby boater heard the cries for help, assisted with righting it, and got the other two passengers to safety. Witnesses administered CPR to the male who was trapped in the canoe and he was brought to shore where he was ultimately pronounced deceased. The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The incident remains under investigation.
