An Old Fashioned Christmas Returns!

North Conway Village, NH – News Flash….. We just received word from the North Pole that the jolly man himself, Santa Claus will be arriving to North Conway again on November 26th to celebrate “An Old Fashioned Christmas.” With the snow on top of Mount Washington, Santa will have a place to land his sleigh and has decided to make this an annual event so that Dasher and Dancer, and Prancer and Vixen, Comet and Cupid, and Donner and Blitzen and Rudolph can have a practice run in preparation of the big night on Christmas Eve.

This year’s event begins with a Holiday Parade in North Conway at 4:00, leading Santa Claus to the official tree lighting ceremony 4:45 in North Conway Village’s Schouler Park where children will receive a golden ticket for a chance to help Santa light the 60 foot tall Christmas tree in the Park, accompanied by traditional Christmas music and caroling.

Following the tree lighting, Santa will lead the crowd down main-street in a “Parade of Carols” for two blocks to Eastern Slope Inn Resort, singing Christmas carols along the way. The parade procession will stop momentarily at the town Library as the librarian passes the official book of all books “Twas the Night Before Christmas” onto Santa. The parade will arrive at the Historic Eastern Slope Inn Resort, where Santa will choose another child to assist in lighting the resort.

Children and their parents are invited to follow Santa to the Eastern Slope Inn Playhouse for cookies and hot chocolate after the resort lighting, where Santa will read “Twas the Night Before Christmas.” Three readings at 6:00, 6:30 and 7:00 will be provided to accommodate all event attendees. The Mount Washington Observatory will be open for those to visit if the Playhouse is full during the first two readings.

Following the final reading, children can meet Santa beginning at 8:00 at the Playhouse.
