ANIMAL RESCUE LEAGUE SEARCHING FOR NEW PREZ

JUST SIX MONTHS AFTER HIRING ITS LAST PRESIDENT, THE BEDFORD BASED ANIMAL RESCUE LEAGUE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE – AND THE ANIMAL RESCUE LEAGUE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE NORTH, BASED IN CONWAY – ARE LOOKING FOR A NEW PRESIDENT.

RESCUE LEAGUE NORTH BOARD PRESIDENT LES SCHOOF OF HARTS LOCATION LEADS A BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF A DOZEN PEOPLE. HE SAYS THE MOST RECENT PRESIDENT OF THE LEAGUE – REBECCA JUSTICE – WHO’S APPOINTMENT WAS ANNOUNCED IN LATE JUNE, 2011 – LEFT IN DECEMBER, 2011 (DECEMBER, 2011) AFTER A MUTUAL AGREEMENT THE JOB WASN’T A GOOD FIT FOR HER.

NOW SCHOOF SAYS HIS ORGANIZATION IS MOVING ON AND HAS ALREADY CONDUCTED SOME INTERVIEWS TO FILL THE POSITION AGAIN.

SCHOOF SAYS THE NEW HIRE SHOULD BE COMFORTABLE WITH A VARIETY OF COMPUTER PROGRAMS AND HAVE CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER EXPERIENCE, NON-PROFIT EXPERIENCE, AND BE COMFORTABLE WORKING WITH A BOARD OF DIRECTORS.

THE NEW PRESIDENT AND CEO WILL TAKE CHARGE OF THE LARGER LEAGUE OFFICE IN BEDFORD THAT HANDLES MORE THAN 2,000ANIMALS EACH YEAR WITH ABOUT 400 VOLUNTEERS, AND THE SMALLER RESCUE LEAGUE NORTH IN CONWAY – FORMERLY CALLED THE CONWAY AREA HUMANE SOCIETY – THAT HANDLES ABOUT 1,000 ANIMALS EACH YEAR – INCLUDING CATS, DOGS, RABBITS AND GUINEA PIGS – WITH ABOUT 150 VOLUNTEERS.

SCHOOF SAYS THE SHELTER HAS A “NO-KILL” POLICY IN THE SENSE AN ANIMAL IS NOT PUT DOWN BECAUSE OF TIME OR LACK OF SPACE.
