Baldwin Maine Car Accident Sends Two to Hospital

Baldwin Maine – Two people are in the hospital as a result of a car accident in Baldwin Maine involving a dump truck. At 3 o’clock yesterday afternoon 69-year-old George Curit, of Brownfield, was driving west on route 113 by Municipal Way with his wife Sharon when he crossed the centerline. His Dodge Grand Caravan crashed into a Mack dump truck being driven by 45-year-old Jeffery Sterling, of Porter Maine. The impact caused the mini van to fly off the south side of the road. The Driver of the Mini-van sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries, Both he and his wife were both transported by Standish Rescue to Maine Medical Center. The area around the crash was down to just one lane as the accident was being recreated during yesterday afternoon. The investigation is still ongoing by the Cumberland County Reconstruction team and the Maine State Police Commercial Unit. No criminal charges have been filed at this time. The dump truck was owned by P.Y. Estes & Son of Baldwin.
