BALLPARK OPENING BENEFITS FOUNDATION

by Christian Mower on August 23, 2013

IT’S GOT A 12 FOOT WALL THAT LOOKS A LOT LIKE THE GREEN MONSTER, PESKY’S POLE – AND EVEN A BIG GAS STATION SIGN ABOVE THE WALL.

JOEY MILLER OF THE BELIEVE IN BOOKS LITERACY FOUNDATION, THE VALLEY-BASED NON PROFIT THAT AIMS TO ENHANCE THE QUALITY OF LIFE THROUGH READING – SAYS “IT’S GOING TO BE PRETTY DIFFICULT TO HIT ONE OUT, ESPECIALLY IF THE WIND KEEPS UP THIS WEEKEND.”

BELIEVE IN BOOKS WILL BENEFIT FROM PROCEEDS RAISED SUNDAY AUG. 25, 2013 AT THE GRAND OPENING OF THE SEASONS’ FENWAY PARK JUNIOR BALLFIELD AT THE SEASONS CONDOMINIUM RESORT IN BARTLETT.

IT’S A REPLICA OF BOSTON’S FENWAY PARK TAILOR-MADE FOR WIFFLE BALL – DESCRIBED AS “A PLACE WHERE THE FIELD IS SMALL, BUT THE DREAMS ARE BIG.”

MILLER SAYS HIS FOUNDATION HAS A GOOD RELATIONSHIP WITH THE SEASONS RESORT THAT WILL HOST THE FIRST ANNUAL HOME RUNS FOR LITERACY EVENT SUNDAY, A HOME RUN DERBY FUNDRAISER – AND THE RESORT IS LOOKING TO GIVE BACK TO THE COMMUNITY WITH THE EVENT.

A RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY AT THE RESORT ON ROUTE 302, 1 SEASONS AT ATTITASH RD. WILL BE HELD AT NOON SUNDAY AND THEN FOR JUST $5, PARTICIPANTS WILL GET 10 SWINGS IN THE NEW PARK – AND HOPEFULLY PLEDGES FROM FAMILY AND FRIENDS FOR EACH WIFFLE BALL HOMER THEY SLUG.

EVENTS WILL INCLUDE A WIFFLE BALL GAME, FOOD AND BEVERAGES AND TOURS OF THE NEW FACILITY.

DETAILS ABOUT THE EVENT – INCLUDING THE OFFICIAL PLEDGE SHEET – CAN BE FOUND ONLINE AT www.seasonsnh.com OR BY CALLING 1-800-332-6636.
