BARN BURNS IN HARRISON, MAINE FIRE

A DISPATCHER WITH THE CUMBERLAND COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE SAYS FIREFIGHTERS ARE AT THE SCENE OF A FIRE IN HARRISON THIS MORNING (FRIDAY).

FIREFIGHTERS WERE CALLED SHORTLY BEFORE 2 A.M. FRIDAY TO 101 TOWN FARM ROAD.

A FIREFIGHTER WITH THE HARRISON FIRE DEPARTMENT TELLS WMWV HE DOESN’T HAVE ANY REPORTS OF INJURIES BUT A BARN HAS “BURNT FLAT” AND THE FIRE HAS SPREAD INTO A NEARBY HOUSE.

FIREFIGHTERS FROM TOWNS SURROUNDING HARRISON ARE ASSISTING.

THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE IS NOT KNOWN BUT HEAVY THUNDERSTORMS MOVED THROUGH THE AREA STARTING JUST BEFORE MIDNIGHT.

A RESIDENT OF NORTH BRIDGTON ACROSS LONG LAKE REPORTED SMELLING SMOKE – AND SEEING AN ORANGE GLOW AND HEAVY SMOKE CLOUDS ON THE RIDGE LINE IN HARRISON.
