BLUE LOON BUS SERVICE TO CONTINUE IN CONWAY

THE BLUE LOON SHUTTLE BUS SERVICE WILL CONTINUE TO RUN IN CONWAY, DESPITE TOWN VOTERS REJECTING A TOWN MEETING ARTICLE EARLIER IN APRIL ASKING FOR MONEY TO HELP RUN IT.

BEVERLY RAYMOND –TRANSPORTATION DIRECTOR FOR THE TRI-COUNTY COMMUNITY ACTION PROGRAM THAT RUNS THE CARROLL COUNTY TRANSIT SYSTEM AND THE BLUE LOON BUSES – SAYS ONE BUS PASSENGER DONATED $500 AT A PUBLIC MEETING FRIDAY IN ALBANY THAT WAS CALLED TO DISCUSS THE SERVICE.

IN ADDITION, RAYMOND SAYS CONWAY TOWN MANAGER EARL SIRES ANNOUNCED AT THE MEETING AN ANONYMOUS DONOR WILL CONTRIBUTE THE $3,000 THE SERVICE HAD REQUESTED FROM CONWAY VOTERS.

RAYMOND SAYS TRI-COUNTY CAP WILL CONTINUE TO OPERATE THE SERVICE IN CONWAY AND HOPES CONWAY VOTERS WILL SEE THE BENEFITS OF IT AND DECIDE TO FUND IT NEXT YEAR (2013).
