BOY SCOUTS CONDUCTING SATURDAY FOOD DRIVE

BOY SCOUTS AROUND NEW HAMPSHIRE ARE TAKING PART IN THE ANNUAL SCOUTING FOR FOOD “GOOD TURN” THIS WEEKEND – ONE OF THE STATE’S LARGEST ONE DAY FOOD DRIVES – BY PICKING UP NON-PERISHABLE FOOD AND HOUSEHOLD ITEMS SATURDAY MORNING TO FIGHT HUNGER.

LAST WEEK SCOUTS LEFT DOOR HANGERS WITH INFORMATION ABOUT THE DRIVE AROUND THEIR TOWNS.

20 COLLECTION SITES WILL BE OPERATING AROUND THE STATE SATURDAY, WHERE ITEMS WILL BE SORTED BEFORE THEY ARE DISTRIBUTED TO 150 FOOD PANTRIES AND AGENCIES. SCOUTS WILL BEGIN PICKING UP ITEMS THAT HAVE BEEN LEFT OUT FOR THEM SATURDAY AT 8:30 A.M.

DONORS ARE ALSO WELCOME TO BRING ITEMS DIRECTLY TO THE COLLECTION CENTERS, LOCATED IN NORTH CONWAY AT THE GIBSON CENTER ON 14 GROVE STREET; IN PLYMOUTH AT THE NATIONAL GUARD ARMORY AT 19 AMORY ROAD; IN BERLIN AT THE NATIONAL GUARD AMORY ON MILAN ROAD AND IN LITTLETON AT THE VFW HALL AT 600 COTTAGE STREET.

SUGGESTED DONATION ITEMS INCLUDE CANNED SOUP, STEW AND CHILI; CANNED TUNA, CHICKEN, SALMON AND LUNCHEON MEAT, CANNED FRUIT, FRUIT JUICE, CANNED VEGETABLES, PASTA SAUCE, A CANNED MEAL, CANNED BEANS AND EVAPORATED MILK.

THE SCOUTS ASK THAT GLASS ITEMS NOT BE DONATED.
