THE CONWAY DAILY SUN SAYS THE TRI-COUNTY COMMUNITY ACTION PROGRAM’S BLUE LOON BUS SERVICE STARTS ALL DAY ROUTES IN CARROLL COUNTY WEDNESDAY BETWEEN WOLFEBORO, OSSIPEE AND CONWAY – WHILE ANOTHER ROUTE WILL OPERATE TWICE A DAY BETWEEN OSSIPEE AND LACONIA.

THE SUN SAYS TRI-COUNTY CAP CONFIRMS THE BLUE LOON BUSES WILL COST $280,000 A YEAR TO OPERATE – AND SPEAKERS AT A KICKOFF EVENT FOR THE EXPANDED SERVICE IN TAMWORTH TUESDAY SAID HEALTHY RIDERSHIP NUMBERS WILL BE CRUCIAL FOR KEEPING THE SYSTEM VIABLE.

THE SUN SAYS CHUCK HENDERSON – REPRESENTING U.S. SENATOR JEANNE SHAHEEN OF NEW HAMPSHIRE – CONGRATULATES TRI-COUNTY CAP AND SAYS THE BLUE LOON’S NEW ROUTE WILL COMPLEMENT ITS EXISTING DOOR-TO-DOOR SERVICE THAT HAS BEEN A GREAT HELP TO THOSE WITH LIMITED TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS.

TRI-COUNTY CAP TRANSPORTATION DIVISION DIRECTOR BEVERLY RAYMOND TELLS THE SUN ALL THE BUSES ARE WHEEL CHAIR ACCESSIBLE AND TO DATE, THE SERVICE HAS PROVIDED ABOUT 6,700 RIDES.

THE BUSES WERE PURCHASED USING FEDERAL STIMULUS MONEY.
