The former speaker of the New Hampshire House of Representatives says he escorted former U.S. Senator Scott Brown of Massachusetts to events in the valley area Thursday.
It was the first official visit by Brown to the valley by the former Republican senator since he formally announced he is running for a U.S. Senate seat in New Hampshire.
Longtime New Hampshire House member and Republican Gene Chandler of Bartlett did not provide details of Brown’s itinerary but the Conway Daily Sun reports Chandler officially endorsed Brown for the Senate Thursday at a lunch event in North Conway.
Brown has been critical of incumbent Democratic U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire on issues like the federal healthcare law – also referred to as “Obamacare.”
Shaheen accuses Brown of running misleading attack ads against her.
