CONWAY AREA VETERANS DAY ACTIVITIES

AMERICAN LEGION POST 95 OF NORTH CONWAY INVITES VETERANS AND MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC TO CELEBRATE VETERANS DAY AT THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES STARTING FRIDAY MORNING.

AT 9:30 A.M., A NON-DENOMINATIONAL ECUMENICAL SERVICE WILL BE LED BY AIR FORCE VETERAN THE REV. GIL HEALY AT THE FIRST CHURCH OF CHRIST, CONGREGATIONAL IN NORTH CONWAY. THE BRIEF SERVICE WILL RECOGNIZE AND HONOR ALL U.S. VETERANS. PARKING WILL BE AVAILABLE AT THE CHURCH, LOCATED ACROSS THE STREET FROM PEACHES RESTAURANT.

AT 11 A.M. THE LEGION POST 95 COLOR GUARD WILL STEP OFF FROM JOHN FULLER SCHOOL IN NORTH CONWAY AND LEAD A PARADE DOWN MAIN STREET TO SCHOULER PARK.

A WREATH LAYING CEREMONY WILL FOLLOW AT SCHOULER PARK STARTING AT 11:30 A.M. WITH MUSICAL SELECTIONS AND THE TRADITIONAL PLAYING OF “TAPS” BY MEMBERS OF THE KENNETT HIGH SCHOOL MARCHING BAND.

THEN, STARTING AT 12:45 P.M. FRIDAY AT KENNETT HIGH SCHOOL’S CAFETERIA ON EAGLES WAY, ALL VETERANS WHO HAVE PARTICIPATED IN ANY OF THE DAY’S CEREMONIES ARE ENCOURAGED TO BRING A DEPENDENT AND ATTEND THE COMPLIMENTARY “HEROES APPRECIATION LUNCHEON.” SPONSORED BY POST 95, THE LUNCH WILL BE PREPARED BY KENNETT’S CULINARY ARTS STUDENTS AND WILL BE SERVED UNTIL 1:45 P.M.

CERTAIN RESTAURANTS ARE ALSO OFFERING FREE MEALS TO VETERANS TO MARK VETERANS DAY.
