CONWAY ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECT AT LARGE

CONWAY POLICE ARE WARNING THE PUBLIC A ROBBERY SUSPECT IS STILL AT LARGE AND SHOULD BE CONSIDERED ARMED AND DANGEROUS.

LT. CHRIS PERLEY SAYS OFFICERS RESPONDED SHORTLY BEFORE 9:30 P.M. WEDNESDAY TO THE NORTH CONWAY T.D. BANK BRANCH ON EASTMAN ROAD WHERE THEY DETERMINED AN  EMPLOYEE OF A LOCAL OUTLET STORE WAS MAKING A DEPOSIT WHEN A MAN WITH A HANDGUN DEMANDED AND THEN TOOK THE MONEY, BEFORE FLEEING ON FOOT TOWARD THE MOUNTAIN VALLEY MALL AND GETTING INTO A CAR.

CONWAY POLICE WERE ASSISTED AT THE SCENE BY THE CARROLL COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE AND NEW HAMPSHIRE STATE POLICE – INCLUDING A K-9 TEAM – BUT THE SUSPECT COULD NOT BE LOCATED.

THE VICTIM WAS NOT PHYSICALLY HURT.

DIGITAL PHOTOS OF THE SUSPECT PROVIDED BY POLICE SHOW HIM CROUCHED ON THE HOOD OF THE VICTIM’S CAR AND THEN AT THE DRIVER’S SIDE.

PERLEY SAYS OFFICERS ALSO RECOVERED ADDITIONAL EVIDENCE AT THE SCENE BUT DECLINES TO PROVIDE DETAILS.

THE SUSPECT IS DESCRIBED AS A THIN WHITE MAN IN HIS LATE 20s TO EARLY 30s, WEARING A DARK GRAY HOODED SWEATSHIRT, BLUE JEANS AND WHITE SNEAKERS, WITH A BLACK BANDANNA OVER HIS FACE.

PERLEY SAYS HIS DEPARTMENT IS COOPERATING WITH MADISON POLICE TO DETERMINE IF THERE ARE ANY SIMILARITIES WITH WEDNESDAY NIGHT’S CONVENIENCE STORE ROBBERY IN MADISON THAT HAPPENED SHORTLY AFTER THE CONWAY ROBBERY.

PERLEY IS WARNING PEOPLE TO USE EXTRA CAUTION WHEN CARRYING MONEY FOR DEPOSIT DURING NIGHTTIME HOURS, PARTICULARLY DURING THE HOLIDAY SEASON.
