CONWAY CHIEF GRATEFUL FOR SUPPORT

by Christian Mower on December 9, 2013

WHEN CONWAY POLICE CHIEF ED WAGNER TOOK TO THE PODIUM AT FRIDAY’S NEWS CONFERENCE IN CONCORD ABOUT THE MISSING 15-YEAR-OLD NORTH CONWAY GIRL ABIGAIL HERNANDEZ, HE ONCE AGAIN THANKED THE CONWAY AND GREATER MOUNT WASHINGTON VALLEY COMMUNITIES FOR THEIR SUPPORT OF HIS AND OTHER LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES IN THEIR SEARCH FOR ABIGAIL, WHO WAS LAST SEEN LEAVING KENNETT HIGH SCHOOL OCT. 9, 2013.

WAGNER SAYS DURING THE INITIAL INTENSE SEARCH EFFORT IMMEDIATELY AFTER ABIGAIL DISAPPEARED, SOME LOCAL BUSINESSES IN CONWAY PROVIDED FOOD FOR AS MANY AS 100 SEARCHERS FOR UP TO 3 WEEKS. SO HIS DEPARTMENT MADE UP AND DISTRIBUTED COMMUNITY SERVICE BEFORE THE FRIDAY’S NEWS CONFERENCE TO SEVERAL OF THOSE BUSINESSES IN RECOGNITION AND APPRECIATION OF THEIR OUTSTANDING SUPPORT.

NEW HAMPSHIRE SENIOR ASST. ATTORNEY GENERAL JANE YOUNG SAID FRIDAY THAT ABIGAIL’S MOTHER ZENYA HERNANDEZ GOT WHAT AUTHORITIES BELIEVE IS AN AUTHENTIC LETTER IN EARLY NOVEMBER FROM ABIGAIL THAT HAD BEEN POSTMARKED OCT. 23, 2013.

PAUL KIRSCH – PRESIDENT OF THE WHITE MOUNTAIN MILERS RUNNING GROUP THAT MEMBERS OF ABIGAIL’S FAMILY ARE PART OF – HAS BEEN WORKING DILIGENTLY TO KEEP ALIVE THE STORY OF ABIGAIL’S DISAPPEARANCE – AND IT APPEARS FRIDAY’S NEWS CONFERENCE RESULTED IN GREATER ATTENTION TO THE STORY FROM NATIONAL MEDIA.

KIRSCH HAS BEEN POSTING UPDATES AND EVENTS ABOUT ABIGAIL ON THE WEBSITE www.bringabbyhome.com, INCLUDING VIDEO SEGMENTS OF COVERAGE BY ABC – AND HE SAYS ZENYA HERNANDEZ APPEARED IN A SEGMENT MONDAY MORNING ON GOOD MORNING AMERICA, THE CBS MORNING SHOW. CNN ALSO COVERED ABIGAIL’S STORY OVER THE WEEKEND.

YOUNG SAYS IT’S STILL A MISSING PERSONS CASE, BUT FBI SPECIAL AGENT KIERAN RAMSEY WARNED IT’S NOT KNOWN WHAT HAPPENED TO ABIGAIL – BUT IT’S BELIEVED SHE IS WITH SOMEONE AND MAY BE IN DANGER.

ANYONE WITH INFORMATION ABOUT ABIGAIL IS ASKED TO CALL THE TOLL FREE FBI TIPLINE AT 1-800-CALL-FBI OR CONWAY POLICE AT (603) 356-5715.
