CONWAY DAILY SUN SAYS FIRE CONTAINED ON ATTITASH

THE CONWAY DAILY SUN SAYS THE OPERATIONS MANAGER OF ATTITASH MOUNTAIN RESORT REPORTED A FOREST FIRE AT ATTITASH TO BE CONTAINED SHORTLY AFTER 5 P.M.MONDAY.

ATTITASH MARKETING COORDINATOR LAURA TUVESON TELLS THE SUN FIRE AND RESCUE PERSONNEL HAD BEEN SENT UP THE FLYING YANKEE CHAIRLIFT TO ACCESS THE FIRE, WHICH WAS WEST OF THE ALPINE SLIDE AND OTHER SUMMER OPERATIONS.

TUVESON TELLS THE SUN SEVERAL PEOPLE CALLED ATTITASH FROM BARTLETT VILLAGE TO REPORT SEEING SMOKE ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE MOUNTAIN.
