CONWAY MAN CHARGED WITH CRIMINAL THREATENING

CONWAY POLICE SAY A 22-YEAR-OLD CONWAY MAN IS CHARGED WITH SIX FELONY COUNTS OF CRIMINAL THREATENING USING A DEADLY WEAPON AFTER AN INCIDENT IN CONWAY EARLY MONDAY MORNING.

LT. CHRIS PERLEY SAYS OFFICERS RESPONDED TO 47 WEST MAIN ST. SHORTLY BEFORE 4 A.M. AFTER A CALLER SAID A NEIGHBOR – IDENTIFIED AS NICHOLAS ROZZI OF 57 WEST MAIN ST. – ALLEGEDLY HAD THREATENED THREE PEOPLE WITH A TWO BY FOUR.

PERLEY SAYS THE TRIO “RELIEVED” ROZZI OF THE BOARD BUT HE RETURNED LATER WITH TWO BUTCHER KNIVES AND ALLEGEDLY THREATENED THEM AGAIN.

THEY THEN TOOK THE KNIVES FROM ROZZI AND CALLED POLICE.

PERLEY SAYS TENSIONS ARE HIGH IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD AFTER A NUMBER OF RECENT CAR BREAK-INS.

EACH FELONY COUNT CARRIES A POTENTIAL PRISON TERM OF SEVEN YEARS.

ROZZI IS ALSO CHARGED WITH ONE MISDEMEANOR COUNT OF TRESPASSING.

ROZZI APPEARED IN DISTRICT COURT IN CONWAY MONDAY AFTERNOON AND A JUDGE ORDERED HIM HELD ON $2,500 CASH BAIL.

HE’S DUE BACK IN COURT AUGUST 15TH.
