Conway Police say a judge set bail at $100,000 cash for a 50-year-old Conway man accused in a sexual assault case.

Lt. Chris Perley says officers arrested David F. Brochu at his home on High Point RD. without incident Saturday night after investigating a case of sexual assault that allegedly included physical assault and a gun.

The unidentified adult victim first reported the incident to a medical professional and then police. Perley says there is no danger to the general public.

Brochu is charged with three counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault, one count of second degree assault and one count of criminal threatening with a deadly weapon. The maximum for the charges, if convicted, is more than 80 years in prison.

He was being held at the Carroll County Jail in Ossipee and appeared before a district court judge in Conway Monday.

Brochu is scheduled for a probable cause hearing March 4, 2014.
