CONWAY POLICE WARN ABOUT SUSPICIOUS CAR AND DRIVER

CONWAY POLICE URGE DRIVERS AND CITIZENS TO BE EXTRA VIGILANT IN LOOKING OUT FOR A SUSPICIOUS CAR AND DRIVER REPORTED APPROACHING SCHOOL AGE CHILDREN IN THE VALLEY AREA.

LT. CHRIS PERLEY SAYS THE DRIVER IS A MAN ABOUT 30-YEARS-OLD WEARING A RED SOX BALLCAP AND GRAY SWEATSHIRT WITH BLUE JEANS. THE MAN WAS REPORTEDLY DRIVING A RED HONDA CIVIC WITH NEW JERSEY LICENSE PLATES.

ON FRIDAY, SUPT. GARY MacDONALD OF M-SAD 72 IN FRYEBURG (MAINE) NOTIFIED PARENTS OF TWO INCIDENTS THURSDAY AFTERNOON WHERE THE SUSPICIOUS DRIVER APPROACHED CHILDREN IN THE STOW/FRYEBURG HARBOR AREA. DURING ONE OF THE INCIDENTS, THE DRIVER REPORTEDLY CONCEALED HIS LICENSE PLATES WITH DUCT TAPE.

MacDONALD SAYS ALL HIS BUS DRIVERS HAVE BEEN TOLD TO BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR ANY SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY – AND HE’S ASKED PARENTS TO HAVE A CONVERSATION WITH THEIR CHILDREN ABOUT DEALING WITH STRANGERS – AND SAFETY IN GENERAL.

THE SUSPICIOUS DRIVER AND ANOTHER MALE PASSENGER WERE APPARENTLY SPOTTED AGAIN AROUND NOONTIME SATURDAY AT DOLOFF POND IN CONWAY, NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF STARK RD. AND ROUTE 153.

PERLEY REMINDS PARENTS AND GUARDIANS STUDENTS SHOULD ALWAYS BE SUPERVISED UNTIL PICKED UP BY A BUS.
