Conway residents “critical” after crash

Police in Ossipee say a crash on Route 16 Wednesday night critically injured two Conway residents.

Detective Sgt. Bob King says it happened around 6 p.m. near Route 25 East when 33-year-old Amanda Sarson of North Conway was driving a 1996 Toyota Tercel northbound and apparently lost control, crossed into the southbound lane and hit the plow of 52-year-old Jeffrey Faris of Ossipee, who was driving a 2001 Ford F-250 pickup truck southbound.

Sarson was initially taken to Memorial Hospital and her passenger, 31-year-old Lawrence Trask of Center Conway, was taken to Huggins Hospital in Wolfeboro, before both were transferred to Maine Medical Center in Portland.

King said Friday both were listed in critical condition.

Faris was not hurt.

King says it appears snowy conditions contributed to the accident.
