CONWAY TEEN CRITICALLY INJURED IN EATON ROAD CRASH

A SPOKESPERSON FOR MAINE MEDICAL CENTER IN PORTLAND SAYS AN 18-YEAR-OLD CONWAY WOMAN WAS IN CRITICAL CONDITION MONDAY (DEC. 17, 2012) AFTER THE AUDI 4-DOOR SEDAN SHE WAS RIDING IN EARLY FRIDAY MORNING CRASHED IN CONWAY.

CONWAY POLICE SAY EMERGENCY RESPONDERS, INCLUDING CONWAY FIRE RESCUE AND AMBULANCE, RESPONDED TO EATON RD. SHORTLY AFTER 2 A.M. SATURDAY AND FOUND PASSENGER CHRISTINE FOURNIER OF STARK RD. EJECTED FROM THE CAR AND UNCONSCIOUS AFTER IT CRASHED INTO A TREE.

LT. CHRIS PERLEY SAYS IT WAS A VERY HIGH SPEED CRASH AND THE CAR MAY HAVE BEEN TRAVELING AT MORE THAN 100-MILES PER HOUR.

FOURNIER WAS INITIALLY TAKEN BY AMBULANCE TO MEMORIAL HOSPITAL IN NORTH CONWAY BEFORE BEING TRANSFERRED TO MAINE MEDICAL CENTER.

THE DRIVER OF THE AUDI – IDENTIFIED AS 18-YEAR-OLD JACOB D. HOYT OF WOODLAND GROVE RD. IN CONWAY – WAS ARRESTED AND CHARGED WITH FELONY AGGRAVATED DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED, DUE TO THE SERIOUS NATURE OF FOURNIER’S INJURIES.

HOYT APPEARED BEFORE A JUDGE FRIDAY AND HIS BAIL WAS SET AT $100,000 CASH.

HE WAS ALREADY OUT ON BAIL IN CONNECTION WITH ANOTHER CASE IN OCT. 2012 , WHEN HE AND HIS 17-YEAR-OLD BROTHER JONATHAN HOYT WERE ARRESTED AFTER CONWAY POLICE ALLEGEDLY CAUGHT THEM AND TWO OTHER TEENS STEALING ITEMS FROM KENNETT MIDDLE SCHOOL IN CONWAY.

ALL FOUR MEN ARE CHARGED WITH CLASS A FELONY BURGLARY IN THAT CASE. AT THE TIME OF THE ARRESTS PERLEY SAID JACOB HOYT HAD A CRIMINAL RECORD.
