CONWAY VOTING RESULTS

VOTER TURNOUT WAS LIGHT IN CONWAY TUESDAY (APRIL 9, 2013) FOR THE COMPLETION OF TOWN MEETING. UNOFFICIAL RESULTS INDICATE A TOTAL OF JUST MORE THAN 1,400 OF THE MORE THAN 6,600 REGISTERED VOTERS CAST THEIR BALLOTS.

THE FOLLOWING RESULTS PROVIDED BY CONWAY TOWN CLERK RHODA QUINT SHOULD BE CONSIDERED UNOFFICIAL UNTIL CERTIFIED.

CARL THIBODEAU WAS ELECTED SELECTMAN – LARRY MARTIN POLICE COMMISSIONER – KEVIN MADDEN TREASURER – STEVEN PORTER AND RAYMOND SHAKIR PLANNING BOARD – DANIELLE SANTUCCIO, FRANK MCCARTHY, RICHARD KLEMENT, JOSEPH MOSCA AND RICHARD “DICK” POLLOCK BUDGET COMMITTEE – WILLIAM MARVEL AND MARK HOUNSELL LIBRARY TRUSTEES – AND JEAN SIMON TRUSTEE OF TRUST FUNDS.

ALL TOWN ARTICLES PASSED, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF ARTICLE 14 – TO ESTABLISH A TRUST FUND FOR POLICE EQUIPMENT – ARTICLE 15, TO ESTABLISH A TRUST FUND FOR POLICE EARNED BENEFIT PAYMENTS – ARTICLE 16, TO PURCHASE AN EMERGENCY GENERATOR – AND ARTICLE 29, TO PROVIDE $10,000 TO NORTHERN HUMAN SERVICES FOR THE MENTAL HEALTH CENTER.

IN SCHOOL VOTING, MARK HOUNSELL AND JOE LENTINI WERE ELECTED TO THE SCHOOL BOARD – DOUGLAS BURNELL MODERATOR AND THEODORE SARES, SCHOOL TREASURER.

ALL SCHOOL ARTICLES PASSED, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF ARTICLE 6, TO RETAIN UNASSIGNED GENERAL FUNDS – ARTICLE 7, TO INCREASE SALARIES AND BENEFITS – ARTICLE 9, TO PLACE $100,000 IN THE BUILDINGS MAINTENANCE FUND – AND ARTICLE 14, TO SPEND $12.000 TO CONTINUE TIN MOUNTAIN CONSERVATION CENTER SCIENCE PROGRAMS.
