CONWAY’S LOCKE AN ALL-STAR

CONWAY’S PITCHING PHENOM LEFTY JEFF LOCKE OF THE PITTSBURGH PIRATES HAS BEEN SELECTED TO THE 2013 NATIONAL LEAGUE ALL STAR TEAM.

LOCKE’S SELECTION WAS ANNOUNCED ON NATIONAL TV SATURDAY NIGHT. HE IS JOINED BY TEAMMATE PITCHER JASON GRILLI, WHO HAS BEEN OUTSTANDING FOR THE BUCS THIS SEASON PITCHING IN RELIEF, 3RD BASEMAN PEDRO ALVAREZ AND CENTER FIELDER ANDREW McCUTCHEN, WHO HAS PROVIDED SOME KEY HITS AND RUNS DURING GAMES WHEN LOCKE HAS PITCHED.

LOCKE IS 8-1 ON THE SEASON WITH AN ERA OF 2.12.

THE BOSTON RED SOX WILL SEND THREE PLAYERS TO THE ALL-STAR GAME, INCLUDING PITCHING ACE CLAY BUCHHOLZ, DESIGNATED HITTER DAVID ORTIZ AND SECOND BASEMAN DUSTIN PEDROIA.

THE ALL-STAR GAME WILL BE PLAYED TUESDAY JULY 16, 2013 AT THE METS’ CITI FIELD IN NEW YORK.
