POLICE IN FRYEBURG, MAINE SAY A 42-YEAR-OLD MAN FROM FRYEBURG HAS BEEN RELEASED FROM THE HOSPITAL AND IS RECOVERING AT HOME AFTER BEING SERIOUSLY INJURED IN A ROLLOVER CRASH A FEW DAYS BEFORE CHRISTMAS.

DETECTIVE SGT. JOSH POTVIN SAYS STANLEY VLADYKA WAS RELEASED FROM MAINE MEDICAL CENTER MONDAY AND HE’S GLAD “MR. VLADYKA WILL GET TO BRING IN THE NEW YEAR AT HOME WITH HIS FAMILY.”

POLICE SHUT DOWN WEST FRYEBURG RD. FOR MORE THAN AN HOUR THE NIGHT OF DEC. 23, 2013 WHILE FIRE AND RESCUE PERSONNEL WORKED TO EXTRICATE VLADYKA FROM A 1996 GMC PICKUP AFTER HE LOST CONTROL, CROSSED THE ROAD, WENT INTO A DITCH AND ROLLED INTO A POWER POLE, CRUSHING THE TOP OF HIS PICKUP AND TRAPPING HIM INSIDE.

POTVIN SAYS THE VICTIM IS EXTREMELY FORTUNATE TO HAVE SURVIVED THE CRASH AND HE WISHES HIM A SPEEDY RECOVERY.

VLADYKA WAS INITIALLY TAKEN TO BRIDGTON HOSPITAL.

POTVIN SAYS BOTH SPEED AND ALCOHOL ARE CONSIDERED TO BE FACTORS IN THE CRASH.
