DRIVER IN FATAL CRASH IDENTIFIED

NEW HAMPSHIRE STATE POLICE HAVE IDENTIFIED THE DRIVER WHO DIED LATE MONDAY MORNING AFTER A HEAD-ON COLLISION ON ROUTE 16 IN PINKHAMS GRANT.

TROOPER MEREDITH FAVREAU OF TROOP F IN TWIN MOUNTAIN SAYS 67-YEAR-OLD HARRY GOODWIN OF MILAN, NEW HAMPSHIRE WAS PRONOUNCED DEAD AT THE SCENE AFTER THE CRASH NEAR THE AMC VISITOR CENTER.

FAVREAU SAYS GOODWIN HAD BEEN DRIVING A PONTIAC GRAND PRIX SOUTHBOUND AROUND 10:45 A.M. WHEN A NORTHBOUND TOYOTA SIENNA CARAVAN DRIFTED OVER THE CENTERLINE AND HIT HIM.

A PASSENGER IN GOODWIN’S CAR WAS TAKEN TO A HOSPITAL IN BERLIN WITH NON LIFE THREATENING INJURIES.

THE DRIVER OF THE CARAVAN IS IDENTIFIED AS 48-YEAR-OLD KEVIN DOUGLAS OF WOODSTOCK, CONN. HE AND FOUR CHILDREN WHO WERE RIDING AS PASSENGERS WITH HIM WERE TAKEN TO MEMORIAL HOSPITAL IN NORTH CONWAY WITH NON LIFE THREATENING INJURIES.

THEY HAVE SINCE BEEN RELEASED.

FAVREAU HAS NOT RELEASED ANY INFORMATION ABOUT WHAT CAUSED THE CRASH OR WHETHER ANY CHARGES ARE EXPECTED TO BE FILED IN CONNECTION WITH IT.
