EDUCATION BUILDING OPENING AT MADISON ANIMAL CENTER

THE HEAD OF A WILDLIFE REHABILITATION CENTER IN MADISON IS READY TO OFFICIALLY OPEN THE CENTER’S NEW ON-SITE EDUCATION CENTER.

LICENSED WILDLIFE REHABILITATOR CATHIE GREGG IS THE DIRECTOR OF THE ELAINE CONNERS CENTER FOR WILDLIFE ON PINE HILL RD.

GREGG SAYS HER NON-PROFIT CENTER GOT A VERY GENEROUS GRANT FROM THE NEW HAMPSHIRE BASED BUTLER FOUNDATION TO BUILD THE EDUCATION BUILDING THAT WILL BE CALLED THE BUTLER EDUCATION CENTER

THE NEW BUILDING – MOSTLY BUILT THIS SUMMER – HAS A CONFERENCE ROOM AND CLASSROOMS THAT WILL ALLOW FOR TRAINING OF VOLUNTEERS AND INTERNS, PROVIDE ANIMAL REHABILITATORS A PLACE TO NETWORK AND SPACE TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC.

THE PEQUAWKET FOUNDATION DONATED A LARGE SCREEN TV AND MONEY TO BUY MEDIA MATERIALS, INCLUDING DVDs AND BOOKS.

THE CENTER TAKES IN AND TREATS A LARGE NUMBER OF ANIMALS EVERY YEAR – RETURNING THE MAJORITY OF THEM TO THE WILD AFTER THEY RECOVER.

THE PUBLIC IS INVITED TO AN OPEN HOUSE AT THE EDUCATION CENTER SUNDAY DEC. 9, 2012 FROM 1 – 4 P.M. AT 152 PINE HILL RD. IN MADISON.
