AN OSSIPEE POLICE OFFICER SAYS A JUDGE HAS SET BAIL AT $50,000 FOR EACH OF THE TWO SUSPECTS CHARGED WITH FELONY CRIMINAL NEGLECT OF THE ELDERLY IN A CASE INVOLVING THE MOTHER OF ONE OF THE DEFENDANTS.

LT. JIMMY ELDRIDGE SAYS HIS DEPARTMENT EXECUTED A SEARCH WARRANT AT 54 FOX RUN ROAD IN WEST OSSIPEE LATE MONDAY MORNING SEARCHING FOR 80-YEAR-OLD JOAN BROWN – WHO HAD BEEN REPORTED AS MISSING AND ENDANGERED FROM STONEHAM, MASSACHUSETTS.

OSSIPEE OFFICERS FIRST ENCOUNTERED ONE OF HER SONS – 43-YEAR-OLD DARIN BROWN – WHO ELDRIDGE SAYS HID IN A ROOM BEFORE BEING APPREHENDED – AND DARIN’S WIFE – 38-YEAR-OLD SHARON GIORDANO – WHO WAS FOUND HIDING UPSTAIRS.

ELDRIDGE SAYS JOAN BROWN WAS FOUND IN A BEDROOM IN THE HOUSE SUFFERING FROM INTERNAL BLEEDING AND NEGLECT, WITH A POSSIBLE FRACTURED HIP.

. DARIN BROWN AND GIORDANO ARE EACH CHARGED WITH TWO FELONY COUNTS OF CRIMINAL RESTRAINT AND CRIMINAL NEGLECT OF THE ELDERLY – AND TWO MISDEMEANOR COUNTS EACH OF HINDERING APPREHENSION AND RESISTING ARREST.

ELDRIDGE SAYS IT COULD BECOME A FEDERAL CASE IF INVESTIGATORS DETERMINE BROWN WAS KIDNAPPED FROM MASSACHUSETTS.
