ELECTION DAY INFO

TUESDAY NOV. 5, 2013 IS ELECTION DAY, AND WHILE THERE’S NO VOTING IN CARROLL COUNTY, NEW HAMPSHIRE THERE ARE ISSUES BEING DECIDED IN MAINE.

ALL VOTERS IN MAINE HAVE THE CHANCE TO VOTE ON FIVE BOND ISSUE QUESTIONS, INCLUDING MAINTENANCE COSTS FOR THE MAINE ARMY NATIONAL GUARD, UPGRADING LAB AND CLASSROOM FACILITIES THROUGHOUT THE UNIVERSITY OF MAINE SYSTEM, INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS USING MATCHING FEDERAL FUNDS, WHETHER TO BUILD A NEW SCIENCE FACILITY AT THE MAINE MARITIME ACADEMY AND WHETHER TO UPGRADE CAMPUS FACILITIES OF THE MAINE COMMUNITY COLLEGE SYSTEM TO INCREASE CAPACITY AND SERVE MORE STUDENTS.

VOTERS IN LOVELL AND BRIDGTON WILL CONSIDER THE BOND ISSUES WHILE FRYEBURG VOTERS WILL ALSO DECIDE A LOCAL ISSUE – HOW TO PROCEED WITH THE DETERIORATING RED IRON BRIDGE. OPTIONS INCLUDE SPENDING ABOUT $600,000 TO REPAIR IT, ABOUT $750,000 TO REPLACE IT OR REMOVING IT AT NO COST.

POLLS ARE GENERALLY OPEN UNTIL 8 P.M. TUESDAY.
