ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS CELEBRATE 100TH DAY OF SCHOOL

ELEMENTARY STUDENTS AT PINE TREE SCHOOL IN CENTER CONWAY ARE CELEBRATING THE 100TH DAY OF SCHOOL FEBRUARY 8TH BY GIVING TO OTHERS.

A PARENT THOUGHT OF THE IDEA AND PRINCIPAL AIMEE FRECHETTE EXPANDED ON IT, WITH THE SCHOOL’S K-KIDS – A JUNIOR KIWANIS CLUB OF 19 2ND THROUGH 6TH GRADERS.

EACH GRADE LEVEL SELECTED A LOCAL CHARITY TO CONTRIBUTE AT LEAST 100 ITEMS TO.

6-YEAR-OLD JASON INFINGER – A FIRST GRADER – SAYS HIS CLASS COLLECTED 300 BOOKS.

3RD GRADER KAELA BOOTHBY – WHO IS 8 AND A K-KID – WORKED WITH HER CLASS TO COLLECT AND DONATE 124 CANNED FOOD ITEMS TO THE DINNER BELL FOOD PANTRY AT THE LITTLE BROWN CHURCH IN CONWAY.

KAELA ALSO ENJOYED HELPING SPONSOR FIVE KIDS IN THE VALLEY TO GET HOLIDAY PRESENTS THROUGH THE ANGELS AND ELVES PROGRAM.

10-YEAR-OLD K-KID JORDANNA BELLE-ISLE SAYS SHE LIKES HELPING PEOPLE.

SHE AND HER FELLOW 5TH GRADERS COLLECTED MORE THAN 130 ITEMS OF CLOTHING FOR THE PROJECT.

AND ON VALENTINE’S DAY TUESDAY, THANKS TO JORDANNA AND HER CLASSMATES, MORE THAN 100 MEALS ON WHEELS RECIPIENTS WILL GET HAND MADE VALENTINE’S DAY CARDS DELIVERED WITH THEIR MEALS.

STUDENTS’ CONTRIBUTIONS ARE DOCUMENTED IN THE SCHOOL NEWSLETTER AND THE “PROJECT SUCCEED” NEWSLETTER. PINE TREE STUDENTS ALSO CONTRIBUTED TO THE “SOX FOR SOLDIERS” PROGRAM AND MADE A WALL OF HONOR AT THE SCHOOL TO HONOR MILITARY VETERANS.

THE K-KIDS ALSO HAVE A BULLETIN BOARD AT THE SCHOOL.
