Fatal Car Accident In Milton Takes The Lives Of 3 People

A third person has died after a fatal car accident in Milton last night that caused part of route 16 to be closed for 4 hours. According to state police around 8 last night 57-year-old Victoria Rose of Revere, Massachusetts was driving her Jeep Liberty southbound on Route 16 when she crossed the center line into the path of a Subaru Outback driven by 31-year-old Allison Smith of Portsmouth. Rose was pronounced dead at the scene and Smith was later pronounced dead at Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester. The passengers of both vehicles were taken to Frisbie Memorial Hospital for care. The passenger in the Jeep sustained serious injuries but is stable. One of the passengers in the Subaru, 31-year-old Vanessa Cox, of Boston, sustained critical injuries and was transported to Maine Medical in Portland, Maine, where she later died. The other passenger sustained serious injuries but is in stable condition. A small dog that was riding in the Jeep had to be put to sleep do to its injuries. Authorities are still investigating the accident and ask that anyone with any information regarding the crash contact the state police.
