Father of valley resident dies in Albany

A staff member with a prominent real estate company in North Conway says her fellow workers at Badger Realty consider themselves to be members of the company’s family – and they are thinking of their colleague, Realtor Ralph Cronin Jr., after hearing that his father – 67-year-old Ralph Cronin Sr., of Lynn Mass., died Monday afternoon in Albany.

New Hampshire Fish and Game Conservation Officer Alex Lopashanski says the elder Cronin was cross country skiing with his wife Linda on the Oliverian Brook Trail off the Kancamagus Hwy. when he passed on about 12:30 p.m., about three tenths of a mile in from the trailhead.

Lopashanski says there’s no cell phone service at the location so emergency responders weren’t notified of the situation until more than an hour later. He says when the call came in about 2 p.m., firefighters from Conway and Center Conway and personnel from the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Forest Service quickly and efficiently responded to recover the body.
