FLOOD WARNING ISSUED FOR CARROLL COUNTY

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS EXTENDED A FLOOD WARNING FOR THE SACO RIVER NEAR CONWAY UNTIL EARLY SATURDAY AFTERNOON.

 AT 3 A.M. SATURDAY THE RIVER WAS REPORTED TO BE JUST ABOVE FLOOD STAGE OF NINE FEET. THE RIVER IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE TO RISE TO ABOUT NINE AND A HALF FEET BEFORE FALLING BELOW FLOOD STAGE EARLY SATURDAY AFTERNOON.

 DRIVERS ARE CAUTIONED NOT TO DRIVE THROUGH FLOODED AREAS AS IT’S IMPOSSIBLE TO KNOW IF THE ROAD IS SAFE.
