GIRL CHARGED ICW WITH NORTH CONWAY FIRE

CONWAY POLICE SAY A 15-YEAR-OLD GIRL WAS ARRESTED AND CHARGED WITH ARSON AFTER A SUSPICIOUS FIRE THURSDAY MORNING IN NORTH CONWAY.

DETECTIVE SGT. AL BROYER SAYS NORTH CONWAY FIRE AND RESCUE AND NORTH CONWAY AMBULANCE WERE CALLED TO THE MILLBROOK VILLAGE APARTMENT COMPLEX AT 175 GROVE STREET AROUND 8 A.M.AFTER A REPORT OF A STRUCTURE FIRE IN UNIT 10 OF THE COMPLEX.

BROYER SAYS NORTH CONWAY FIRE CHIEF PAT PREECE ASKED FOR HELP FROM THE POLICE IN INVESTIGATING THE FIRE AND INVESTIGATORS DETERMINED IT WAS SUSPICIOUS.

BROYER SAYS THE UNIDENTIFIED GIRL WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY BASED ON AN INTERVIEW, WITNESS STATEMENTS AND EVIDENCE RECOVERED FROM THE SCENE.

THE GIRL WAS SCHEDULED TO APPEAR IN DISTRICT COURT IN CONWAY THURSDAY AFTERNOON.

BROYER SAYS THE FIRE WAS LIMITED TO A LIVING ROOM WALL AND FLOOR AND THE CASE REMAINS UNDER INVESTIGATION.
