Portland M.E. – A Gorham Maine woman who crashed her car in Bridgton, killing her boyfriend and son pleaded guilty yesterday. According to the Cumberland County Sheriffs Office in October of last year Candice L. Tucker was driving while drunk on Route 302. They say she was going 85 MPH in a 55 MPH zone when she crossed the center line, hit two trees, and crashed on the side of Route 302 in Bridgton by the Naples Town line. Tucker, her boyfriend 35-year-old Eric Morey and her son 16-year-old Brandon Denis had been visiting friends and family, spending part of the day around a bonfire. She told a family member her son in the back seat distracted her. Tucker was treated for minor injuries at Bridgton Hospital but her son and boyfriend were pronounced dead at the scene. In a Portland Court yesterday Tucker said she’s taking responsibility for her actions and accepted a plea deal. She pleaded guilty to two counts of manslaughter and two counts of Aggravated OUI and was sentenced to 12 years in prison, with all but four suspended.
