Subaru of New England’s District Sales Manager Bill Bergeon from Norwood, Mass. congratulated a group of nearly a dozen volunteers from Jen’s Friends – the valley area non-profit that supports cancer patients and their families – Monday morning as he helped Conway’s Profile Subaru General Manager Dale Patell present the group a check for more than $9,000 at Profile’s showroom on Route 16 in Conway.
Dale says it wasn’t difficult to pick Jen’s Friends as a local charity his customers could designate $250 to go to for each Subaru sold during December’s “Share the Love” event at Profile. He knew Jen Hill, graduating from high school with her, knows her family and feels a connection to the organization started in her honor.
Jen’s Friends Treasurer Kathy Sweeney – part of the appreciative group accepting the check from Dale and Bill – says the amount is about what her group spends locally each month to buy food for the more than 70 cancer patients and families it now supports. She thanked Dale for being a big supporter.
Kathy says Profile’s donation will allow her group to spend money on other needed items.
