Kennett Drumline celebrates music

by Christian Mower on March 7, 2014

New Hampshire Gov. Maggie Hassan has declared March to be “Music in our Schools Month” and Conway’s Kennett High School’s Drumline is celebrating with a series of three concerts starting Friday.

2014: A Drum Odyssey, will be presented at 7 p.m. at the school’s Loynd Auditorium March 7 and March 8 – and again on Saturday, March 15 2014. A $5 donation to support the music program is requested, and children under 5 years old will get in free.

Music Director Dr. Therese Davison says this year’s seniors have led the Drumline to a new level of proficiency in technique, arranging, composing, showmanship and creativity – and she hopes high school alumni will turn out in large numbers for Alumni Night March 15 and participate in the final number of the production.

The 2014 show is based on a theme of space, time and technology – and features 42 drummers.
