KENNETT SOPHOMORE CROWNED MISS MWV TEEN

A 15-YEAR-OLD KENNETT HIGH SCHOOL SOPHOMORE FROM BARTLETT HAS BEEN CROWNED MISS MOUNT WASHINGTON VALLEY TEEN FOR 2013.

THE DAY LONG SCHOLARSHIP PAGEANT WAS HELD SUNDAY AT THE ATTITASH GRAND SUMMIT HOTEL IN BARTLETT.

11 YOUNG LADIES REPRESENTING VALLEY AREA TOWNS COMPETED IN THE 24TH YEAR OF THE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM.

THE WINNER WAS SARAH LYN SMITH. SHE WAS ALSO GIVEN THE HOSTESS AWARD.

FIRST RUNNER-UP WAS 17-YEAR-OLD AUTUMN JAYNE KEYES OF OSSIPEE, A SENIOR AT KINGSWOOD REGIONAL HIGH SCHOOL.

SECOND RUNNER UP WAS 18-YEAR-OLD SHANNON GRAYCE FRIBERG OF FRYEBURG, MAINE, A SENIOR AT FRYEBURG ACADEMY.

FIVE CONTESTANTS WERE PRESENTED WITH CERTIFICATES FOR COMMITMENT.

THE CONTESTANTS PARTICIPATED IN INTERVIEWS AND A PUBLIC SPEAKING COMPETITION, A FORMAL WEAR COMPETITION AND OPTIONAL TALENT COMPETITION.

THE EVENING PROGRAM WAS HOSTED BY RADIO PERSONALITY COOPER FOX OF THE MOUNT WASHINGTON RADIO GROUP.

THE PAGEANT IS HELD EACH YEAR TO RAISE COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP MONEY FOR TEENS IN THE MOUNT WASHINGTON VALLEY.
