KINDNESS FEST ORGANIZER PLEASED

by Gair on May 21, 2013

ONE OF THE ORGANIZERS OF THE WEEKEND’S KINDNESS FEST IN CONWAY SAYS IT WAS A HUGE SUCCESS, FAR EXCEEDING WHAT SHE THOUGHT IT WOULD BE.

SANDY RUKA – A REGISTERED NURSE WHO IS THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE VISITING NURSE HOME CARE AND HOSPICE OF CARROLL COUNTY IN NORTH CONWAY – SAYS SHE HEARD ALL POSITIVE COMMENTS THROUGHOUT THE 3-DAY EVENT THAT KICKED OFF FRIDAY NIGHT WITH INSPIRATIONAL SPEAKER MICHAEL CHASE GIVING A TALK AT KENNETT HIGH SCHOOL.

RUKA SAYS THERE WAS A POSITIVE RIPPLE EFFECT AROUND CONWAY AS FESTIVAL GOERS CONSIDERED ITS THREE MAIN THEMES – BEING KIND TO YOURSELF, BEING KIND TO OTHERS AND BEING KIND TO THE EARTH.

RUKA SAYS SHE COULDN’T BE MORE PLEASED WITH THE COMMUNITY SUPPORT AND THE PEOPLE WHO CAME OUT FOR THE FESTIVAL.

ALTHOUGH FESTIVAL EVENTS THROUGHOUT THE WEEKEND WERE FREE, RUKA’S NON-PROFIT AND THE EVERGREEN WELLNESS INSTITUTE WERE BENEFICIARIES OF ABOUT $20,000 THAT WAS RAISED THROUGH THE SALE OF WRISTLETS THAT OFFERED DISCOUNTS AT AREA BUSINESSES AND RESTAURANTS.
