THE CONWAY SCENIC RAILROAD HAS GIVEN THE KIWANIS CLUB OF MOUNT WASHINGTON VALLEY $9,000 TO SUPPORT CHILDREN’S CHARITIES.

THE RAILROAD’S GENERAL MANAGER, RUSS SEYBOLD, RECENTLY PRESENTED A CHECK TO CLUB PRESIDENT MARIE LEE AND THE CHAIR OF THE CLUB’S AUTUMN EXPRESS COMMITTEE, JEFF BAILEY.

THE 6TH ANNUAL AUTUMN EXPRESS – A FUNDRAISER FOR THE KIWANIS CLUB – RAN A 5-HOUR ROUND TRIP EXCURSION THROUGH CRAWFORD NOTCH ON THE RAILROAD’S NOTCH TRAIN OCT. 20, 2013.

WMWV HELPED SPONSOR THE EVENT.

LEE SAYS THE MISSION OF THE CLUB IS TO “MAKE OUR COMMUNITY A BETTER PLACE IN WHICH TO LIVE BY ENGAGING ADULT AND YOUTH VOLUNTEERS TO SUPPORT COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECTS WITH AN EMPHASIS ON THE NEEDS OF OUR CHILDREN.”

LEE SAYS SHE’S DELIGHTED – AND GRATEFUL TO THE RAILROAD FOR THE GENEROUS CHECK – THAT WILL BE APPLIED TO THE CLUB’S LOCAL EFFORTS.
