Latest Information In The Officer Involved Shooting In Lovell Maine

There was an Officer involved shooting in Lovell, Maine yesterday morning. The Oxford County Sheriff’s department said that Deputy Sheriff Cpl. George Cayer responded to reports of an armed man causing a disturbance on Nuthatch Road around 1 am Wednesday. During the confrontation Cpl. Cayer shot and wounded 31-year-old Dennis Buffington. Buffington was transported to Bridgton Hospital and then to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. His condition has yet to be released. As standard protocol with all officer involved shootings Cpl. Cayer has been placed on administrative leave as the incident is investigated by he Attorney General’s Office.
