LOCAL GROCER HOSTS FARMLAND NIGHT

by Christian Mower on November 20, 2013

THE ONLY LOCALLY OWNED AND OPERATED ALL NATURAL MARKET, DELI AND CAFÉ IN THE MOUNT WASHINGTON VALLEY IS HOSTING FARMLAND ACCESS INFORMATION NIGHT WEDNESDAY (NOV. 20, 2013) IN NORTH CONWAY.

HEATHER CHASE – THE OWNER OF THE LOCAL GROCER AT 3358 WHITE MOUNTAIN HWY. – SAYS THE INFORMATION SESSION IS A GREAT IDEA THAT WILL LEAD TO MORE LOCAL FOOD PRODUCTION AND LOCAL FARMING.

THE IDEA IS TO BRING TOGETHER NEW FARMERS WHO ARE LOOKING TO BUY OR LEASE LAND, ESTABLISHED FARM OWNERS THINKING ABOUT PASSING ON THEIR FARMS, LANDOWNERS, MEMBERS OF THE LOCAL AGRICULTURAL COMMUNITY AND PROFESSIONAL ADVISORS.

TOPICS WILL INCLUDE FINDING AND EVALUATING FARMLAND – BUYING, LEASING AND FINANCING THE PURCHASE – AND OPTIONS AND IDEAS ON HOW TO SELL, LEASE OR TRANSFER FARMLAND.

THE SESSION WILL TAKE PLACE IN THE LOCAL GROCER’S NEW YOGA WELLNESS STUDIO THAT’S SPECIALLY DESIGNED FOR COLLABORATIVE COMMUNITY EVENTS

CHASE SAYS SHE HAS FRIENDS IN VERMONT AND THERE ARE OTHER ORGANIZATIONS THERE THAT ARE SUCCESFULLY BRINGING PEOPLE TOGETHER TO TALK ABOUT LOCAL FARMING AND AGRICULTURE.

WEDNESDAY’S SESSION STARTS AT 6 P.M.

DRINKS AND SNACKS WILL BE PROVIDED BY LOCAL FARMS AND THE LOCAL GROCER. RESERVATIONS CAN BE MADE PRIOR TO THE EVENT BY CALLING (603) 357-1600. WALKUPS ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND AS WELL. FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE LOCAL GROCER, SEE THE WEBSITE AT www.nhlocalgrocer. com.
