GOV. JOHN LYNCH HAS DECLARED A STATE OF EMERGENCY IN NEW HAMPSHIRE AND IS ASKING DRIVERS TO STAY OFF THE ROADS MONDAY AFTERNOON.

THE GOVERNOR SAYS “WATER IN THE ROADS, FLYING DEBRIS AND DOWNED POWER LINES ARE ALL POSSIBLE BECAUSE OF THE SEVERITY OF THIS STORN, WHICH IS WHY WE ARE URGING PEOPLE STAY OFF THE ROADS UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY.”

LYNCH DIRECTED NON-ESSENTIAL STATE WORKERS BE RELEASED FROM WORK EARLY MONDAY AND URGED EMPLOYERS TO CONSIDER RELEASING THEIR WORKERS EARLY.

HE SAYS SANDY WILL BE A SIGNIFICANT STORM FOR NEW HAMPSHIRE – AND HE URGES ALL CITIZENS TO EXERCISE COMMON SENSE AND EXTREME CAUTION.
