MADISON MAN ARRESTED, FRYEBURG MAN CRITICAL AFTER ROLLOVER

POLICE IN FRYEBURG, MAINE SAY A 47-YEAR-OLD MAN FROM MADISON, NEW HAMPSHIRE IS BEING HELD AT THE OXFORD COUNTY JAIL AFTER HIS ARREST MONDAY AFTERNOON IN FRYEBURG.

DETECTIVE SGT. JOSH POTVIN SAYS HE TOOK ERIK M. BRADBURY INTO CUSTODY SHORTLY AFTER 3:15 P.M. AFTER FINDING HIM WALKING DOWN MAIN ST. TOWARD CONWAY – AND ALLEGEDLY CARRYING MORE THAN $1,000 WORTH OF STOLEN JEWELRY AND ELECTRONICS.

THE ITEMS ARE BELIEVED TO HAVE BEEN STOLEN FROM HOMES IN AND AROUND THE CONWAY AREA. POTVIN SAYS HE WAS GIVEN INFORMATION ABOUT BRADBURY BY CONWAY DETECTIVES AND THE ARREST IS A “PERFECT EXAMPLE OF MULTI-JURISDICTIONAL COOPERATION BETWEEN POLICE DEPARTMENTS. LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES WORKING TOGETHER TO SOLVE CRIME IS WHAT IT’S ALL ABOUT.”

BRADBURY IS CHARGED WITH A FELONY OF RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY AND HIS BAIL HAS BEEN SET AT $4,000 CASH.

IN A SEPARATE INCIDENT, POTVIN SAYS WEST FRYEBURG RD. WAS SHUT DOWN MONDAY NIGHT FOR MORE THAN AN HOUR WHILE FIRE AND RESCUE PERSONNEL WORKED TO EXTRICATE A DRIVER IN A ROLLOVER CRASH.

THE DETECTIVE SAYS 42-YEAR-OLD STANLEY VLADYKA OF FRYEBURG WAS DRIVING A 1996 GMC PICKUP ON THE ROAD ABOUT 9 P.M. WHEN HE LOST CONTROL, CROSSED OVER THE ROAD, WENT INTO A DITCH AND ROLLED OVER INTO A POWER POLE, CRUSHING THE TOP OF HIS PICKUP AND TRAPPING HIM INSIDE.

THE VICTIM WAS TAKEN TO BRIDGTON HOSPITAL WITH NON-LIFE THREATENING INJURIES AND WAS REPORTED IN STABLE CONDITION. POTVIN SAYS THE MAN IS EXTREMELY LUCKY TO BE ALIVE AND SPEED AND ALCOHOL ARE BOTH CONSIDERED TO BE FACTORS IN THE CRASH.

Last evening Stanley Vladyka of Fryeburg took a turn for the worse and was transported by life flight to Maine Medical Center for what is considered now to be life-threatening- injuries.

“At this time Mr. Vladyka is considered to be in critical condition at Maine Medical Center.”
