MAINE BOY HOSPITALIZED AFTER BEING HIT BY CAR

CONWAY POLICE SAY A 9-YEAR-OLD BOY FROM MAINE WAS TAKEN TO MEMORIAL HOSPITAL IN NORTH CONWAY EARLY WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AFTER HE WAS HIT BY A CAR ON ROUTE 16 NEAR THE CONWAY FIRE STATION.

LT. CHRIS PERLEY SAYS IT HAPPENED AROUND 1 P.M.

POLICE BRIEFLY CLOSED DOWN THE ROAD AT THE SCENE.

INITIAL DETAILS WERE SKETCHY – AND POLICE WERE STILL INVESTIGATING – BUT PERLEY SAYS THE BOY WAS WITH HIS MOTHER AND HE MAY HAVE DARTED OUT INTO TRAFFIC BEFORE HE WAS HIT.

THE IMPACT REPORTEDLY THREW THE BOY ABOUT THREE FEET.

A RESPONDING CREW DESCRIBED THE VICTIM AS BEING STABLE AND ALERT, WHILE EXPERIENCING SOME HEAD PAIN AND SOME CUTS AND BRUISES.
