kimballConway, N.H. – Fryeburg and Conway Police teamed up this weekend to arrest a man in Lovell after he allegedly assaulted a Conway woman and her friend then fled. According to Conway Police Lieutenant Christopher Mattei, Sunday at around 4 am officers responded to Washington Street in Conway after a woman reported her ex-boyfriend, 24-year-old Michael Kimball, had forced his way into her home. She told police that her male friend and her had been sleeping when Kimball forced his way into the apartment through the front door. Kimball immediately physically assaulted the woman and her friend, and then left the scene in an unknown direction. There was also an infant child inside the residence at the time. The male was treated for injuries to his head and arm on scene, and the woman did not report any injuries. At around 12:15 Kimball was located at a friend’s house in Lovell by Fryeburg Police who were assisting Conway Detectives in the search. Michael Kimball is currently being held at the Oxford County Jail awaiting extradition back to New Hampshire. He faces 3 charges of Second Degree Assault a class B Felony, Burglary a class A Felony, and endangering the welfare of a child a class A misdemeanor. Michael Kimball has an extensive criminal history in both New Hampshire and Maine dating back to 2010. Many of offenses include theft and multiple violations of probation/conditions of release. This appears to be an isolated and targeted incident, and the investigation is still ongoing.
