MORNING OUTAGE IN CONWAY DUE TO MAINTENANCE

by Christian Mower on June 14, 2012

A POWER COMPANY SPOKESPERSON SAYS AN OUTAGE ALONG EASTMAN ROAD IN REDSTONE THAT EXTENDED TO NORTH SOUTH ROAD IN NORTH CONWAY WEDNESDAY MORNING WAS PLANNED DUE TO A REQUIREMENT TO MAINTAIN THE LINE.

BUT CATALINA CELENTANO OF PUBLIC SERVICE COMPANY OF NEW HAMPSHIRE (PSNH) SAYS BECAUSE OF A TECHNICAL PROBLEM, THERE WAS CONFUSION BECAUSE NOT EVERY CUSTOMER THAT WAS AFFECTED WAS NOTIFIED PRIOR TO THE OUTAGE.

THE TRAFFIC LIGHTS AT THE INTERSECTION OF EASTMAN ROAD AND NORTH SOUTH ROAD WERE REPORTED OUT JUST AFTER 8 A.M. WEDNESDAY, CAUSING TRAFFIC TO BACKUP.

SOME LARGE STORES NEARBY – INCLUDING WALMART – WERE ALSO REPORTED TO BE WITHOUT POWER.

POWER WAS RESTORED JUST AFTER 9 A.M.

CELENTANO SAYS PSNH IS WORKING TO CORRECT THE ISSUE SO IT DOESN’T HAPPEN AGAIN.
