Fryeburg, ME – A Mother and son were arrested after a routine check in Fryeburg turned out to be anything but routine. At around 7:30 Saturday night a Fryeburg Police officer responded to a home on Lovewell Pond Road to do a bail compliance check, which was the result of a domestic violence assault arrest on Thursday. 55-year-old Catherine Heinz was subsequently arrested for violating her conditions of release.
While the officer was transporting Heinz her 22-year-old son Mark Foster got into a fight with victim of the assault Heinz was charged with. The 59-year-old male victim pulled out his 9mm handgun, which accidentally fired but luckily the bullet only hit the floor. Foster was able to get the handgun out of the victim’s hand and then proceed to hit him repeatedly with the firearm. Foster then fled the scene with the gun, but was quickly apprehended by Police in the Rite Aid Plaza Parking lot on Bridgton Road.
Foster was charged with Robbery, Possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, Aggravated Assault, Violation of protection order, and Violation of conditions of release. Foster and Heinz are currently being held without bail at the Oxford County Jail and are awaiting their initial court appearance.
