MOTORCYCLE RIDER TAKEN TO HOSPITAL AFTER C. CONWAY CRASH

CENTER CONWAY FIRE CHIEF RAY LEAVITT SAYS A LOCAL MAN WHO APPEARED TO BE IN
HIS FORTIES WAS TAKEN TO MEMORIAL HOSPITAL IN NORTH CONWAY THIS MORNING AFTER HE CRASHED HIS MOTORCYCLE ON ROUTE 302 IN CENTER CONWAY NEAR THE STATE LINE STORE.

LEAVITT’S FIREFIGHTERS AND CONWAY AMBULANCE RESPONDED TO THE SCENE NEAR THE FRYEBURG, MAINE TOWN LINE AROUND 7:15 A.M. MONDAY AND FOUND THE MOTORCYCLE RIDER HAD CRASHED AFTER A SMALL RANGER PICKUP PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF HIM.

THE RIDER REPORTED ABDOMINAL PAIN – AND POSSIBLE INJURIES TO HIS BACK AND A LEG. LEAVITT SAYS HIS INJURIES APPEARED TO BE NON LIFE THREATENING.

ROUTE 302 WAS REPORTED TO HAVE BEEN SHUT DOWN FOR A TIME WHILE RESPONDERS WERE AT THE SCENE.

FIREFIGHTERS CLEANED UP SOME GAS THAT HAD SPILLED FROM THE MOTORCYCLE.
