MT. WASHINGTON AUTO ROAD OPEN TO SUMMIT

THE MOUNT WASHINGTON AUTO ROAD IS NOW OPEN TO THE SUMMIT.

YOU CAN EITHER DRIVE YOUR OWN VEHICLE UP IT OR TAKE A GUIDED TOUR.

THE ROAD HAS BEEN OPERATING SINCE 1861. IT’S NOW OPEN DAILY FROM 8 A.M. TO 5 P.M.

HIKER SHUTTLES WILL START THIS WEEKEND.

ON SATURDAY, A NEWLY DEDICATED BARN MUSEUM WILL OPEN, AS WELL AS THE GLEN VIEW CAFÉ, THE OUTFITTERS SHOP AND THE GREAT GLEN TRAILS OUTDOOR CENTER.

UNUSUAL FIRST ASCENTS OF THE AUTO ROAD WILL ALSO BE CELEBRATED MAY 26TH AS PART OF ALTON WEAGLE DAY.

UPCOMING EVENTS INCLUDE BICYCLE RACES, RUNNING RACES, SUNRISE DRIVES AND A COLONIAL MUSTER IN THE MOUNTAINS.
